Completing the square is one of the most vital ways for Algebra 2 students to identify the vertex of a function (this likely means the maximum or the minimum of the graph). We will need to use completing the square to convert standard form functions to vertex form. This will be another tool that can help us graph functions and discuss their graphical representation.
This PDF guide is meant to serve as a starting point to understanding what completing the square means visually and how to accomplish it for a simple case. More advanced cases will not be assessed but will help overall understanding and understanding in future courses.
