This is a special edited lesson and homework on polynomial multiplication. We use the “tabular” method (which means that we are using a table to multiply). Using a table is easier than the traditional distribution method.
Each side of the table represents a polynomial that is being multiplied. Each box represents the product of each term. The end result is computed by combining the like terms that were computed inside the boxes.
