Algebra II further develops basic algebra concepts needed for college mathematics. Areas of study encompass all topics necessary to meet or exceed the state standards in Mathematics for Algebra and Geometry. Topics of study include analyzing functions (linear, quadratic, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic), linear systems, sequences, probability and statistics. Real life applications are integrated into each topic of study. *Graphing calculator needed.
From the curricular resources used which are Pearson EnVision, students will complete the following topics by the end of the school year.
- Solving Equations and Inequalities
- Quadratic Functions and Equations
- Polynomial Functions
- Rational Functions
- Rational Exponents and Radical Functions
- Exponential and Logarithmic Functions
- Trigonometric Functions
- Conic Sections
This course uses the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Algebra 2 in accordance with the Washington Administrative Code. This class has been audited by OSPI and the Tahoma School District has selected Pearson EnVision as the primary curricular resource which align with the CCSS.
The document attached below shows a unique view of the standards for each class. Please toggle the different tabs to explore the alignment of this resource with the curriculum in class. Please reach out to your teacher if your have questions about what these standards mean or how they’re used.
